OMG why does this place not have more stars?!? Im a big fan writing in from California and I miss this place! We don't have it out here on the west coast and it sucks. I love love LOVE the queso and the salsa is pretty tasty too. Salsa is different from others I've had....kinda bland, but oddly good and addictive. I do like the carne asada steak meat whether its in a burrito or on nachos or whatever. Smothered in queso is heavenly. :) I really like the margaritas from here too. Please, Tumbleweed PLEASE come to Sacramento, California!!!!

Tried Tumbleweed's for the first time tonight, and was pleasantly surprised. The young hostesses weren't terribly professional, but our waitress was attentive without being TOO attentive. I did take off half a star because she didn't know all of the beers on tap, and had no printed list. I had a combo plate of beef burrito and pulled pork, with a house salad. The house salad is a LOT of fresh shredded lettuce, a few onions, croutons and red bell pepper slices, nothing exciting. The burrito was tasty but not earth-shattering, had a decent amount of filling and an OK bottled tasting enchilada sauce. It was served with shredded lettuce on the plate. The pulled pork was pretty good.. in fact it was better than the acclaimed restaurant "The Pit" in North Carolina! The pork was tender and juicy... but smothered with a too-sweet BBQ sauce. I liked the fried onions on top. My wife had beef fajitas, ordered medium, arrived slightly overcooked but still tasty. We will be back.

Same as my other review for this chain. Ketchupy tasting "salsa," overcooked beef, fake Mexican, fake Tex-Mex. One step above McDonald's. They got one star for cold beer.

Food looked terrible and was very bland. Did not look anything like the picture in the menu and in fact I thought I received the wrong item. Silverware was dirty and store was tired and worn down. Service was good though. Not worth the time even with free kids on Sundays.

I placed an order for carryout and the lady I spoke with on the phone was very sweet and pleasant, hence the one star. Unfortunately, when I got there her shift had ended. I walked into the carryout section of the restaurant at the time I was instructed (5:00) and waited in line for the people in front of me to finish their order. When I finally got to the front, I was rudely greeted by a teenager who told me I had to wait even longer (I had already waited a half an hour before I could pick it up). The carryout window looks straight into the kitchen where I could see my unfinished order. When a manager told the kitchen staff she was short my order of fries, the guy at the frying station decided to argue with her, and they proceeded to scream at each other until he gave in a brought back my fries. When I went to pay for my food the girl at the counter didn't have a pen and refused to get one from another waitress because the last customer at the counter stole it from her. When I tipped her $2 for doing nothing, she looked at it and sarcastically said "Thanks" as I reached over the counter, grabbed my food and walked out of the door. When I got my food back to my house (A whole 8 minutes away) my burrito was dry and very cold, and my fries tasted like they had been sitting around for a while. The queso on both of my burritos was dried up and had soaked into the burrito and my fries were ice cold. I will never go back to another Tumbleweed.

Standard Tex-Mex fare - nothing special. However, the service was good.
